Crystal Reiki Healing for plants

Plants are easier to care for than animals because they don’t move! I usually give a crystal to a new plant when I put it in the garden to encourage it to grow well. Green moss agate and quartz are my preferred choices for this, although plants like most non-toxic crystals. Remember these crystals will be watered and release any mineral content that is water-soluble into the soil, so be sure to avoid any crystals that are not suitable for human elixirs—use The Crystal Finder (see page 105) as a guide. All you have to do is to Reiki the chosen crystal, dig the hole for the plant, pop the crystal in, and place the plant on top before filling in around it with soil. Similarly, you can put tired and broken crystals back in the ground, which is like an extended vacation for them—a chance to “get back to nature.” Cleanse the crystals and give them a quick Reiki boost before putting them in the garden, spreading them among the plants.

You can also place crystals on the ground to bring positive energy. For example, I have defined my flower bed borders with large pieces of rose quartz. A large crystal can act as a focus in the garden, on a patio, or even in a planted container indoors. Your garden ornaments and sculptures could be made from crystal, or why not create a crystal rockery or waterfall, or a winding path of tumble stones? If you don’t have a garden, you can still add tumble stones, crystals, and rocks to any potted plant indoors.

When placing crystals outside, be aware that some crystals such as amethyst will fade in bright direct sunlight. If in doubt, check with the store when you purchase crystals for your garden. Remember to Reiki these crystals regularly—once a month on the full moon is ideal.

To really embrace the Reiki energy in your garden, make designs of the Reiki symbols with crystals: a large Cho Ku Rei would fit in with a labyrinth on the lawn; Sei He Ki in the flowering borders brings love and therefore healthier flowers; or Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen under any fruit trees—its association with time and space connects to the seeds, which will be the future of the plant.

There are endless ways of sharing crystals with your plant friends. Your imagination is the only limit.

• You can create a quartz ladder for any climbing plants, such as passion flowers or sweet peas.

• Use a crystal rock base for a bonsai or add a crystal Buddha to it.

• Create a miniature plant and crystal scene in pots—one of my clients creates fairy houses complete with miniature live plants and crystals.

Plants love crystals and Reiki, so remember to Reiki your plant crystals each Full Moon.
