Chapter 15: Tell Me How You Feel

In the morning, I feel like a truck hit me. I have a massive headache and I feel sick to my stomach. There is a light knock at my door, but even that light tapping makes me groan in pain. Ash walks in holding a glass of water and some aspirin. I gulp down the pills and water and lean up against my headboard. Ash gazes at me with a nervous expression plastered on his face but turns away from me and leaves my room without saying a single word.

I'm really getting sick of his mood swings. I know he's confused about what he feels for me but he just needs to suck it up and tell me how he feels. One minute he wants to be around me and the next he acts like I don't even exist. No wonder I almost slept with Erik. I just want him to want me and not play these mind games. At least Erik knows what he wants. I know this is all new for him but he should let me help him figure what or who he wants. I'm so close to just giving up and moving on but a part of me will not allow that. I really like him and I want to get to know the real him.

I sigh deeply and get out of bed, walking into the bathroom and closing the door softly behind me. I take off my clothes and slump in the shower. I let the water run down my aching body as I lean against the cool tile. My mind keeps going back to Ash and how frustrated I am with him. When I finish taking a shower my headaches better and I get out feeling refreshed. I dry off and get some clean clothes and put them on. I have to get out of this house to clear my mind.

I decide to go to the local book store and pick up a few books. When I walk into the book store I go straight to the romance section. I have always wished to be like the characters in the books and just maybe I would have something like that one day. I grab two of my favorite books which are Promises and His Convenient Husband, which are slash novels but I sadly don’t own; I borrowed them off Anna. I walk up to the counter and the cashier smiles at me. She looks down at the two books and gives me a disgusted look, not even bothering to hide it for the sake of her professionalism. She rings up the books and I hand my money out to her. She snatches it from my fingers and quickly types on the register. She returns my change and hands me the receipt as she tosses my books in a bag. I grab my bag from her and walk out the store feeling annoyed. She must be new because usually the people that work there are sweet and don't judge you.
