Chapter 12: 3° Exercise: Relaxation Techniques

If you're looking for a new way to relax and de-stress, it's never too late to start. Some of the ways that you can learn are through Pilates, yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises, and time-out from technology. Here are some techniques to help you:

1. The benefits of yoga. Yoga is not just an exercise but a mindful practice where one can realize their true inner self by living in harmony with their mind body spirit. Yoga will improve your ability to focus while decreasing stress levels which is great if you're feeling drained or stressed at work or home life.

2. Free deep breathing exercises. Inhale deeply, hold your breath for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly. See how deep you can breathe in your belly and out. This is a great way to relieve stress quickly while learning how to focus on something as simple as breathing.

3. How to meditate properly. Listening to music and/or observing your thoughts is great for your well-being. It will help you realize what it is that you're feeling inside while also clearing the air with bad thoughts or ideas that might be plaguing your mind at the moment.

4. Yoga exercises. Yoga is one of the best ways to relax, de-stress, and uplift yourself. A great way to start learning yoga is with a beginner's guide which is about the main types of yoga such as sun salutation, asana, pranayama, and meditation. Some of the other types of yoga exercises are postures, breathing exercises, breath control, and meditation.

5. Basic deep breathing exercises. To begin deep breathing exercises in your belly inhale deeply through your nose on the out-breath. Then after exhaling slowly, keep your mouth closed and try counting to 4 while doing so. The purpose of this exercise is to relax while using your body's natural ability to control breathing during stressful moments better.

6. Resistance exercise with beginner's guide. Resistance exercise is a great way to help you learn how to stay fit and healthy while improving muscle strength. The main reason why you should be doing resistance exercises is that when you're able to do so without any equipment, it will improve your ability to perform better in strength training exercises in the future. Some of the simple types of resistance exercises are plyometrics, free weights, martial arts, and calisthenics.

7. Calisthenics exercise and workout. Calisthenics exercises are great for beginners because you will see results quickly, as your muscles are already in good shape. Squats, push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches are all examples of calisthenics exercises.

8. Simple exercise routine. The exercises include the biceps curls, triceps extensions with dumbbells, and the forearm flexion with a barbell.

9. Basic martial arts workout: A basic workout routine for martial arts such as karate, taekwondo, tae kwon do, judo, or jiu-jitsu.

10. Simple Pilates exercise routine: Pilates exercises are great for strengthening the core muscles. The main reason why you should be doing Pilates is that it's a great way to build overall
