The morning light filtered through gauzy curtains, waking me gradually. For a moment, I couldn’t place where I was. Then I felt Lumi’s weight against my chest, her steady breathing warm on my skin.

The memories of the night before flooded back—her soft gasps, the way she’d called my name, how perfectly we’d fit together. I’d been with women before, but nothing prepared me for the intensity of the connection I felt with her.

She stirred, her eyes fluttering open, and a smile spread across her face when she saw me watching her.

“Morning,” she murmured, stretching like a cat against me.

“Good morning.” I brushed her hair from her face, marveling at how beautiful she looked with sleep still clinging to her features—softer yet sated.

“What time is it?” she asked, burrowing deeper against me.

“Early.” I pulled her closer. “We don’t need to be anywhere yet.”

Her head rested on my chest with a contented sigh. “Good.”

I traced patterns on her bare shoulder, memorizing the feel of her skin beneath my fingertips. “Any regrets?”

She raised her face to look at me. “Not a single one.” Her expression grew serious. “You?”

“Only that we waited this long,” I admitted.

Her smile returned as she leaned down to kiss me. “We have time to make up for it.”

The kiss deepened quickly, reigniting the fire between us. My hands slid down her back, pulling her fully against me as she moved to straddle my waist.

“Again?” she teased.

“Problem with that?” I asked, reaching for another condom, hoping we still had at least one left after the number we’d used throughout the night.

“Not even slightly.”

Afterward, we lay tangled together, her head on my chest and my arms around her. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d felt this peaceful.

“We should get up,” she said eventually, though she made no move to leave the bed. “Mom’s flight.”

I kissed the top of her head. “Five more minutes.”

She chuckled. “That’s what you said twenty minutes ago.”

With reluctance, we separated, took a fast shower together, then dressed. In the kitchen, she made coffee while I went to gather her mother’s luggage.
