My legs were sore, and it hurt to walk the following day, but I snuck out of bed anyway to get coffee and pastries from the hotel’s coffee shop. When I got back to the room, I set them on the table by the window and partially opened the curtains to watch the sunrise over the horizon. I noticed yesterday that our room had a view of the mountains and wanted to enjoy some quiet time this morning. My coffee was half gone, and my pastry had been gone for almost twenty minutes when Cole joined me at the table.

“How long have you been awake?”

“About an hour.”

“I told you to wake me.”

“I know, but I wanted some quiet time.”

He broke his banana bread into bite-size pieces and popped one into his mouth before asking, “How are you feeling this morning?”

“Sore. I’m cashing in the offer for the massage once you’re done eating.”

“Grab lotion or something if you have it. If not, I can run out to that little market across the street. They’re bound to have something that will work until I get to a regular store for better stuff.”

“I have lotion and baby oil.”

He finished his last bite of bread and took a sip of coffee. “Get naked, then get your sexy ass onto the bed.”

The best part of Cole’s massages is they were actual massages, not a ploy for something else. He spent the next hour working out every tension knot in my body and spent extra time on my thighs and lower back. “Anywhere else need attention?”

I rolled over, scooted slightly, and wrapped my legs around his waist. Then I pointed to my lips. He leaned down and kissed me, slowly parting my lips with his tongue. We spent the next two hours tangled in each other before he had to leave to help with whatever Keith assigned him today. After he left, I got ready and headed over to meet the band.
