Venus

Venus in a person represents how one goes about creating harmony, fairness, balance, and quality. It also relates to one's self-esteem and what one values about life, his or her value system. In that you can see the duality in the Taurus side of Venus and the Libra side of Venus, as we assign her dual rulership. Venus in the natal chart has to do with somebody's value system but also how one goes about creating fairness and harmony in relationships. You can tie that together by seeing what kinds of people are deemed worthy of relating to, based on your value system.

There's a long thread from self-esteem that traces through resources, money, skills, time – all the way into what kinds of people are deemed important and how fairness and harmony are approached with those people. Adding Chiron, the energetic sensitizer, to Venus therefore has a dual effect and will affect the person's value system. It will make the person very sensitive and will add some level or different kinds of sensitivity to the experience of developing a value system and developing selfworth and choosing, maintaining, and furthering relationships with other people.

Venus Conjunct Chiron

When they are conjunct, there is a merging of these two energies. The person cannot look at other people, cannot look at oneself, without dealing with Chironic sensitivity. One of the big ways that Chiron comes out in rejection. Whenever one looks at one's self-esteem: ―What is it that makes me loveable?‖ Chiron sensitivity is going to be there. There is a lot about being rejected by other people and therefore rejected by the self.

This conjunction also means that if I have this aspect, every time I have a relationship with someone else, it is Chironic in nature. With this, there's a lot of ―wounded bird‖ stuff happening in relationships because the person, depending on where he or she is in relationship to being wounded, will often ask: ―Is it true that other people's reactions to me are valid statements about my worth?‖ We know it's not, but these people are not sure about that, so with the Venus-Chiron conjunction there are a lot of relationships that probably, frankly, should not be happening. There are a lot of boundary problems, a lot of inappropriate attempts to get things healed or to heal other people, whether the Chiron-Venus person is the wounded bird or is the person caring for the wounded bird.

All relationships have the potential to center on healing, and that is an amazing, marvelous function of our love relationships and our friendships. Yet if there is anything that the Chiron-Venus person is not doing for him- or herself and is expecting other people to do for him or her, then you have a problem with the relationships.

This conjunction calls on someone to learn to discern what belongs to one and what doesn‘t belong to the other person. Basically, being the energetic emotional sponge regarding other people has a deep effect on one's willingness to love him- or herself, to value the self.
