Chapter Seven

Knight slept for days.

Days.

And when he woke up, Bish was there to touch him, love him, and put him back to sleep. Occasionally there was something to tempt him to eat—homemade bread with caramelised butter, grilled asparagus tips wrapped in prosciutto, slivers of smoked salmon—but mostly he slept.

Finally his own stench had him pushing out of bed and staggering to the shower. Knight didn’t look at his scraggly self in the mirrors, either—he just turned on the hot water. The sensation of the water against his nipple rings had him gasping. His cock jerked, began to swell, and the water hit his PA.

“Oh, fuck, look at you.” Rook’s voice was nearly a purr and he looked up to catch Rook licking his lips.

“I was dirty.” He felt a little giddy.

“You look edible. God, that jewellery is pretty on you.” Rook’s eyes were fastened to his nipples.

“Thank you. How’s Jase?”

“About as freaked out about the piercings as you are.” Rook pushed his own chest out. “I love mine.”

“They look amazing. Can I touch?”

“Just a little and don’t tug. I wish they didn’t take so long to heal.” Rook grinned at him and stepped closer.

“I won’t.” He reached out, just barely brushed one fingertip over one ring.

Rook’s eyes glazed over and he moaned, his whole body jerking. “Oh, fuck. Knight.”

“Not for a few weeks.”

Rook chuckled and pressed in close. “Perv,” Rook said happily.

“Uh-huh.” He rested one cheek against Rook’s shoulder.

Rook slid his arms around his waist, the two of them standing together in the shower. Knight kissed Rook’s jaw, neck—just relaxing. Eventually, Rook grabbed the shampoo and began washing his hair, massaging his scalp.

“Oh, God. Rookie…” He groaned, head falling forward.

Rook just kept massaging, stroking his head and making him feel good all the way through.

“So good. So good, Rookie.” He sighed and stretched, the smile undeniable.

“You know I’ll always take care of you, K.”

“You been fucking Jase through the mattress?”

“Yep. And Bish has been making you sleep.”

“Uh-huh. Forever.”

Rook giggled. “Or five days, which I realise is even longer.”

“Aeons. I’ve probably lost my talents.”

Rook laughed. “Baloney.”

“You don’t think?”

“You have more talent in your big toe than most people have all their lives.” Rook kissed him softly. “Nothing will ever change that.”

What made it perfect was that Rook believed that, honestly.

The hands on his head moved down, lazily working his shoulders.

“I missed you the last few days.” He leaned hard. He needed Bish, but no one made him happy like Rook.

“Me, too. And I’m here now.”

“You are.” He took another kiss, long and lazy. “Thank you.”

“My pleasure, K.” And Rook meant that honestly, too.

Grabbing the soap, Rook continued to touch him, slick fingers gliding on his skin like magic.

“Fuck, I love your touch. I want to feel you.”

“How do you want me? Name it.”

“Yes.” He smiled and it felt normal, easy, for the first time in months. “But right now I want you to touch me and let me feel your magic.”

Rook melted against him, smiling as he pressed their lips together. He cupped Rook’s face, letting himself lick the water off Rookie’s lips.
