Gillian is writing a book. There are 101 ways she could have begun, but instead of evaluating them all, she just got started. Even though she felt like she didn’t know what the hell she was doing. Because she knows she could have thought about it forever instead of actually writing.

You don’t have to have the whole thing mapped out in exacting detail before you start. Sometimes it’s better to just try it on and see how it goes. You may find you actually waste a lot less time that way. There are so many people who stay stuck in planning/thinking mode (instead of doing mode) for years.

Start moving forward by trying a couple of things that feel exciting to you. You can certainly try some other things later, but why not start with the things that feel the best right now. As you get moving, you’ll get more information. Stuff like:

Jesus Christ, what is this, the Hunger Games?! Hard pass.

Wow, I’m really good at this! Somebody call Hollywood and tell them I’m ready for my sassy career woman biopic!

My boss is a raging sociopath, and my coworkers are human Muppets. DO NOT WANT.

Wheee! I feel just like Elle Woods when she kicked Warner’s ass at Harvard. This is fun!

Hello, police? I’d like to turn myself in. Living in prison would literally be better than this.

I had no idea work could be this good! It’s like I’m at Hogwarts, and the sorting hat created a special house just for me!
