a) Honey Spinner or Extractor

b) Honey Container with a tap, on top of which is fitted a Honey Strainer fitted with a mesh that filters out the wax

c) Uncapping Knife: this is a heavy double-edged knife with which to slice the wax off the top of the honeycomb before putting the frame in the spinner. I prefer an ordinary sharp carving knife, since I find the specialised uncapping knife unwieldy and dangerous.

This is what you do:

Take each comb in turn, hold it over the Honey Container with its Strainer on top, then slice through the wax capping on each side of the comb, letting the cappings fall into the strainer. Put the comb in the spinner with one face propped up against the mesh. See figure:
