Vanilla-Chocolate Pound Cake
Each slice of this pound cake gives you two different looks. It is a vanilla cake swirled with dollops of chocolate batter. The chocolaty and buttery tastes make this cake totally different from what you usually know about pound cakes. This time, it uses ample amounts of hot cocoa mix.

Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/4 cup hot cocoa mix
3/4 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon boiling water
Directions
Heat the oven at 325° F.
Coat with butter and dust with flour an 8 ½ x4 ½ -inch loaf pan.
Whisk in a medium bowl the all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder and salt. Set aside.
Beat with an electric mixer the butter and sugar until fluffy and light for three minutes.
Beat in individual eggs on low speed and beat in vanilla. Beat alternating the flour mixture and milk until well incorporated.
Mix together in a medium bowl, the hot cocoa mix with 1 tablespoon of boiling water. Add in one-half cup of batter and mix until well combined.
Fill about 1/3 of the vanilla batter into the loaf pan. Arrange dollops of chocolate batter on top of vanilla batter (approximately about 2 ½ tablespoons).
Do the same procedure twice and finally ending with the chocolate dollops.
Swirl with a butter knife the mixture into a figure 8 for several times, but avoid over swirling to keep the mixture neat and not muddy.
Bake the cake for seventy to seventy-five minutes until the toothpick does not have traces of batter, when inserted in the middle of the cake.
Let cake cool in pan for five minutes and transfer to a wire rack. Cool completely before serving.
