Rubber Band Shooter

Rubber band shooters like this one have been around about as long as rubber bands. Sure, rubber bands have a hundred practical – and boring – uses, but this project is a really fun way to use them.

And sticking with my not-boring theme, rather than a generic pistol shape for this project I thought it’d be even more fun to base the design on a genuine historical revolver. As with the Fantasy Sword Project, I went back to the mid-19th century for my inspiration and patterned this shooter on the Colt 1851 Navy Revolver. It was a common sidearm during the Civil War for all branches of service, and it was also a favorite of Western legends Wild Bill Hickok and Doc Holliday. That makes it perfect for a backyard Wild West scenario.
