Her words echoed in the empty room, and she stood and smoothed her clothes—tight red satin corset trimmed with black lace, tighter black leather pants, and heeled platform boots. She might not know where she was or where everyone else had gone, but at least that much hadn’t changed. She still had all her strength and senses … if she’d wanted it, the rat hiding behind the pile of crates on her left wouldn’t have stood a chance. Then another thought occurred to her, and, momentarily nervous, she gave a little mental push and checked her teeth with her tongue; still nice and sharp, pointed in all the right places.

Vamp Willow grinned, just a little bit. That was the best part about being a vampire.
