Chapter 10

Christian

Catherine still wanted me.

No one would be that angry unless they had strong feelings. Changing my classes to hers was a brilliant plan. I spoke with Mr. Prescott and ‘convinced’ him to let me know if she switched out of our current classes. Of course, he needed a bit of prodding, but we got there in the end.

I could have asked Ross to do this for me, but I wanted to remind the staff who was in charge here every once in a while.

“Christian, I’ve missed you.” Heather looked desperate, her face caked full of make-up. She looked so fake. She was covered up with so many layers of gunk that no one really knew who the real Heather was.

Why didn’t I notice that before?

“How can I help you, Heather?”

“We can go to the locker room and catch up.” She batted her eyelashes.

The thought of being with Heather made me sick to my stomach. She used sex to get her way. I knew she got around, so I would no longer be touching that bitch.

Getting off no longer felt enough. All of those nameless bitches were in my past. I only wanted Catherine.

“I’m busy.”

“C’mon, Christian. I hardly see you anymore. Is it because of Catherine?”

My eyes narrowed, but I wouldn’t let her get to me since she was fishing for answers.

“Yeah, bro. We don’t see you anymore. Wassup?” Rome asked. If it weren’t for the goods he sold and the fact that he was loyal, I’d have dumped his ass as well.

“Just busy with shit. Something I can’t talk about. I’ll see you guys later.”

I wanted Catherine for myself, and I didn’t need anyone’s hidden agenda complicating my situation with her. They were just a useless distraction that I didn’t have time for.

I kept Eric close since he had some sway over Ally, especially since their relationship had progressed since the party.

I was discrete about it since I didn’t want to lose my only advantage, but he was good at telling me where I could accidentally bump into her when she was alone. Like now, Eric let it slip that Ally would be in the gym. If the delay from the two kiss-asses made me miss her, then I’d be pissed.

I marched to the gym in a foul mood, but I spotted Ally by the bleachers. “Hey.”

“Please, Christian. Don’t involve me in whatever is going on between you and Cat.” Her eyes darted around the room as if she felt uncomfortable talking to me.

“I’m not involving you. I just want you to set up a meeting.”

“She doesn’t want to talk to you. Actually, she doesn’t even want to talk about you.” Ally crossed her arms and glared.

“Then just tell me when and where you two are alone so I can speak with her.”

“I’ll talk to her, but I can’t promise anything.” She sighed.

“Excellent. Text me as soon as you have something.” I grabbed her phone and entered my digits.

“Okay.”

The little fur ball had her uses after all.

I stepped out of the gym feeling satisfied.
