Or should I call it Scream Time for Kids? I have yet to meet a parent for whom screen time doesn’t bring out lots of reactivity.

In structuring this portion of the chapter, I kept thinking about how to make it the most beneficial for you. I decided to include the most frequently asked questions that I get from parents in my workshops, on the playground, during pick-up and drop-off times, at birthday parties, and anywhere I go when someone finds out what I do for a living. These are also the questions asked during any given radio interview and in larger interviews for NBC’s Today Show, ABC News, and more.

When you read these questions and my answers, I hope that you will keep your family in mind. You know the temperament and needs of your particular child. You also know where you are in your parenting journey. If you have established a routine in your home around screens and want to decrease your family’s amount of screen time after reading this book, I would suggest doing so in a way that won’t put too much strain on your family too fast. Remember, this book is all about decreasing reactivity in your home and finding more balance and calm. Be gentle as you implement changes.
