As Joyelle and Emmett enjoyed some coffee while getting ready for work, Logan Pryce and Keith Colgan were meeting in Keith’s office. Keith had invited Logan to meet with him first thing in the morning.

“That doesn’t upset you at all?” Keith asked Logan as he studied the photo of Max and Emmett holding hands.

“Keith, I told you this the first time you showed me this photo. They’re just friends. It looks like Emmett is showing Max his engagement ring. That’s all.”

“They are holding hands,” Keith persisted. “And they spend a ton of time alone together, too.”

“They have been friends for a very long time. Of course, they spend time together.” Logan shifted in his chair. “You’re reading way too much into this.”

“And you’re not worried or upset at all?”

“Worried or upset about what? They are friends. Frankly, if I were you, I’d be more concerned about who took this stupid photo and sent it to you. Clearly, they intended to upset you and you played right into their hands.”

“That’s a different issue. I think I have an idea who sent it.”

“Who?” Logan asked.

“It doesn’t matter. What matters is that our boyfriends are cheating on us right under our noses.”

“No,” Logan said sternly. “What matters is that you don’t trust the man you asked to marry you. Look, Keith. God knows I have my own relationship issues to deal with, so I’m not going to lecture you about yours. But let me say this. Max is a great guy. I know him better than anyone, except maybe Emmett, and I know he’s not a cheater. We may have our issues, but that much I know. He is an honest, good man…and so is Emmett.”

“But--”

“If you can’t see that about Emmett, then you have no business marrying him.” Logan paused. “Or rather, he has no business marrying you. So why don’t you swallow your pride, admit you were wrong, and try to get him back?”

“Because I’m not wrong,” Keith said.

Logan laughed. “Of course not. You never are.” Logan got up to leave. “You know what, Keith? You’re throwing away your happiness with both hands because you’re stubborn and foolish. I know that no one ever says stuff like this to you, but maybe it’s time someone did. Wake up, before you lose Emmett forever…if you haven’t already.” Logan left the office.
