The next morning, it's time to leave my parents’ house. Adam promises to come back soon, and goes to get our things. I hug my parents to me to kiss them goodbye, and my mother gives me one last piece of advice for the road:

“You should get some exercise.”

Just as we're about to get into the 4x4, Adam’s phone rings. He steps away, and I watch him talking. I can hear the icy sharpness in his voice. When he hangs up, he looks tense again.

“Something wrong?”

“No, nothing. Let’s go,” Adam huffs.

I get into the car without a word, preferring not to push him. Adam will talk to me when he’s ready. He always does.

We drive along the edge of Lake Okanagan. This part of Canada is incredibly green, particularly at this time of year. The sun glints off the blue waters of the lake, showing off nature in all its glory. Everything's quiet, and the air is fresh. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco! Then, Adam turns down a private road that takes us towards the lake. We go around a corner, and suddenly, I see a charming little cottage, huddled between the trees. It's right on the shore of the lake, and there's a jetty leading to a fishing boat. It’s a real idyll. Adam has found us a perfect little house, which is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. The sitting room opens out onto a terrace with a view of the lake. We have all we could possibly need in the kitchen, and the cupboards are well-stocked. Adam really has thought of everything. The upstairs bedroom, which must be the only one in the house, is spacious and bright. Basically, the cottage is the ideal haven to hide away from the world… and by the look in Adam’s eyes, I think our lovers’ getaway is about to get started. His expert fingers find the zip of my skirt.

His eyes are blazing, and his whole body seems to be alight.

“Éléa…”

Adam’s voice has become deep and husky, igniting a fire in my stomach. His voice saying my name, the way he pronounces it, makes me want him so badly. His hands are pushing against my naked hips.

“Now this is a bit better than your old bedroom…” Adam says suggestively.

Adam knows what he wants. The minute my skirt hits the floor, he's already pulling at my skimpy, strappy top. His hands against my back pull me to him for a furious, possessive kiss. My whole body responds immediately with blazing passion. No need to work up to it: I'm already horny. I can feel Adam’s desire through his pants, and the sensation of it virtually sends me into orbit with pleasure.

Adam pushes me onto the bed and I lie down, like I did yesterday in my old room. This time, though, there are no inhibitions. Here, I'm a woman, and I let my desire speak for me. I want this man, and our touch sends sparks between our bodies, hands fumbling.
