Reece

For a moment, I was confused, waking up in unfamiliar surroundings, but it all fell into place when I felt the weight of Tatum in my arms. She was a fucking vision asleep. I can’t believe I fell asleep with her last night. It was one of my rules, and I’d broken it. Strangely, I didn’t need to rush out of this room and pretend last night didn’t happen. Between the sex, we actually talked, and when she told me about her passion for writing music, my heart swelled. I wanted to make this girl’s dreams come true. I’d have Veronica find the best school and enroll her as soon as possible. She let me into some of the dark places that her information file didn’t give. About how hard it was growing up in the system.

I wasn’t ready to open up about my past, but I knew I wanted to someday.

She groaned, her eyes fluttering open. She smiled instantly, and I tried to ignore the tug in my chest.

“Good morning, Mr. Kingston.”

“Good morning, Tatum. How’d you sleep?” I asked, moving her hair out of her face.

“Like a baby enveloped by a warm grizzly bear.”

I groaned. “You are too fucking cute sometimes.”

As Tatum got up from the bed, I couldn't help but stare at her perfect curves and how her skin glowed in the morning sun. My attraction toward this woman grew stronger every second, but I couldn't afford to let emotions cloud my judgment. I was a successful businessman and knew how to control my feelings.

"Did you have any plans for today?" I asked.

"I was thinking of exploring the town and maybe finding some inspiration for my music," she replied, a hopeful glimmer in her eyes.

I nodded, already planning in my mind. "How about I have Danny take you around? You can visit some of the best music stores and studios."

Tatum's face lit up with excitement. "That would be amazing! Thank you so much, Reece."

"It's nothing," I said with a shrug, trying to downplay my generosity.

As Tatum started getting ready for the day, I took out my phone and called Veronica.

"Hey Veronica, I need you to find the best music school in town," I said as soon as she picked up.

"On it, boss," she replied without hesitation.

"Oh, and money is not an option," I added.

There was a short pause before Veronica spoke again. "Is this for Tatum?"

I frowned at her assumption. But she was not wrong. "Just get it done."

I ended the call, but not before I heard her chuckle on the other end.
