The incredible
at midnight:
my body is all wakefulness all moon in tight dress
my eyes hibiscus filled
a girl I do not know smiles at me
my body corrects itself
i smile back
my body corrects my chin growing above my back, consumed
in the past
a man on the street and his silence pass me by
the shame i learned from Eve is Old Testament i am not church on broken knee
what is mine is mine, is mine alone
safely, i make it home
Outdooring Ceremony
If the ocean is always ahead of itself,
did it foresee its naming?
Did it foresee how it would become what it was called?
