The oven beeps at the same time as the microwave. I spin around in my kitchen, opening the microwave and then slamming it shut again before hitting the timer on the oven.

What the hell was I thinking inviting Raven over for dinner? As if I know how to cook anything decent. I just want to be with her, be around her, smell her sweetness, and feel her curvy little body pressed against mine.

We couldn't very well cook in her apartment. From what I saw, my girl's kitchen consists of a hotplate and a mini-fridge. I'll be moving her in with me as soon as she agrees to it. In the meantime, I want to get to know everything about her.

Since going out to a restaurant isn't an option, not only for her safety but for my sanity, we decided to have dinner at my place. Brilliant. Except I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing.

I have seasoned chicken cooking on the stovetop and potatoes in the oven. I thought we might need some sort of vegetable, so I grabbed a can of corn and warmed it up in the microwave. It’s not much, but I can learn. I’ll make Raven the most mouthwatering dinner she’s ever had if she sticks with me.

I’m so far gone for this girl already. Every damn time those magical multi-colored eyes land on me, a possessive wave of lust washes over me. It’s more than that, though. The possessiveness is only amplified by how fucking sweet and adorable she is.

I let out a dry laugh and shake my head as I check on the potatoes. Adorable? Colton would give me so much shit if he knew I was even thinking that word, let alone attributing it to a woman. It’s true though. Raven is the whole goddamn package. It only becomes clearer the more time we spend together. The more we touch and kiss and melt into each other.

Groaning, I adjust myself and try to focus on dinner.

“Everything okay in there? Are you sure you don’t want my help?”

Raven’s voice floats in the air from where she’s lounging on the couch. I picked her up an hour ago and took her grocery shopping. I picked up a few things for tonight while she filled up her cart with her weekly groceries. Raven wasn’t too happy that I paid for all of it, but she’ll just have to get used to being taken care of.

“All good. The chicken and potatoes just need to sit for a bit,” I tell her as I make my way into the living room.

Raven is curled up on my couch, and damn, she looks perfect. Her legs are tucked up underneath her and her black hair is down for once, flowing over her shoulders in luxurious waves. She’s holding a sculpture I made a few years back. One of my firsts. I watch her delicate little fingers trace the smooth lines, and suddenly, that’s all I want to do to her.
