Weeding Truth from Slant, Bias, and Spin to Form Your Own Ideas

People similarly share their ideas by commenting on online news stories or posting to social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter, but it is more clear to the reader that these are opinions and not necessarily reliable facts.
It can be harder to distinguish the work of journalists, bloggers, and citizen journalists, but they differ in the kind of bias, slant, or spin they can include in their work. Here are definitions of these terms to help readers tell the difference between proper journalism and the less fair and balanced kind.
