3.4 FORMATTING NUMBERS AND CELLS

3.4.1 Cell Content

Excel content in a spreadsheet is in a cell. The cell can contain text, formulas, or functions.

To insert content in a cell

Click on the cell you want to insert content. Clicking a cell selects the cell.

Type the content into the cell and press Enter on your keyboard. The content will appear in the cell, and the mouse will move to the cell below.

To select multiple cells or cell range

A group of cells is called a cell range. To select a range;

Go to the cell you want to start.

Click and drag your mouse to the last cell of the range until all the cells are selected.

Release the mouse with the selected range. The range remains selected until you click another cell in the worksheet.
