Chapter Five

Lee couldn’t believe this was finally happening. His kids—Sally and Jason, initially tried to talk him out of this. They didn’t know all the details, except Lee kept in touch with an old childhood friend. His former mate Daryl had allowed it, knowing how much Micah meant to Lee.

Besides, I have you, Daryl would say. If I leave you early, in case something happens to me, find your bear. See if you guys have a future.

At that point in time, Lee was stunned by Daryl’s words, his kindness. It took him two years to grieve his mate, to come to the conclusion it was time to make his move. After Sally and Jason saw the letters Micah and he exchanged, his kids supported him with all their heart.

Be happy dad, Sally had said when they parted at the airport. Jason, the less emotional twin, simply hugged him. Jason reminded Lee so much of Daryl, big, powerful and black-haired. Already, Jason had found a position in Daryl’s pack and Sally was on a fast-track to getting her medical degree. His kids were all grown-up.

Lee dreamt of this moment, him on his knees and gazing up at his werebear mate. He liked the fact Micah seemed as eager as he was. Lee always knew that despite his loud personality, he had a submissive streak to him in closed doors. That was why he knew Micah was an exact fit to his needs.

“What are you thinking about?” Micah asked, voice soft.

The werebear thumbed the slight bristles on his jaw back and forth, the motions distracting. Micah had callused and rough hands, no doubt from fights and from his work at the auto repair shop. They were warm hands, Lee remembered. Before he left Pinerock Valley twenty years ago, he remembered linking his hands with Micah. Their final kiss.

“About how far we’ve both come,” Lee answered.

After learning Micah made plans, he smiled. So sweet of Micah, but he knew both of them waited long enough. Some shifters wouldn’t approve of their relationship. Shifters mated for life after all, but this was a second chance Lee wouldn’t give up. Screw what others thought. He had the support of his kids, and he knew he had Daryl’s encouragement too.

Micah began stroking his hair. “We have plenty of things to talk about, matters we can’t share through letters.”

“Yeah, but not tonight.”

“Agreed.”

Lee leaned closer, nuzzling his face against Micah’s groin. He slipped his tongue out and licked away the pre-cum gathered on Micah’s lip. Hearing the werebear growl was a pleasure. He licked and nipped at Micah’s steel-hard length. So big. Lee didn’t think he’s had such a big dick in him, but challenge accepted. He opened his mouth and began to take Micah’s prick in.

“Fuck, no gag reflex?” Micah murmured, startled.

Lee would have smirked if he wasn’t otherwise pre-occupied. He bobbed his head up and down, intent on giving Micah the best blow job of his life. The werebear tightened his grip on Lee’s hair and gave it a tug.
