Energetic Interactions

Another aspect of vital importance to understand is that of energetic interactions. It is also worth pointing out that, in everything we have discusses thus far in the book, different kinds of subtle energetic interactions are really all that we have been talking about! But now we need to address some additional concepts.

It is important to recognize that we are always interacting with the subtle energies around us—everything we do is an energetic interaction of some kind. Most of these interactions are good. But when energetic interactions become detrimental energetic exchanges, this is not good.

In the case of our body, simply put, energetic interactions are when our subtle energies interact with other subtle energies. Energetic interactions are good and necessary, as they give us information about our environment and who and what we are interacting with. They are a large part of our perception of the world around us. These subtle energetic interactions are quite literally an inherent, and inherently necessary, sixth sense that we all have and are in tune with to varying degrees.

These subtle energetic interactions are what drive much of our basic intuition. They are also one of the ways that we get those “gut feelings” that we sometimes have, and so forth. Without these subtle energetic interactions we would feel very disconnected from others and the world around us. We wouldn’t be able to function well at all! However, while energetic interactions are critically important and perpetually constant, if we are not aware, there is a significant inherent potential for some of these interactions to become detrimental energetic exchanges.

Energetically interacting with the world around us is constant, and mostly happens on a subconscious level. But at times, more or less depending on the person, this can also often be consciously intentional. But regardless of whether these interactions are conscious or subconscious, an energetic interaction becomes an energetic exchange when we begin taking on, or being otherwise affected by, those energies we are interacting with. Many of the energies we take on are reasonably good and beneficial, like when we are sharing happy or joyous occasions with friends or family, for example. But when the energies we are exchanging with or taking on are dark, negative, ill-suited to our own, or otherwise adversely affect us, these are not good. These are the energetic exchanges that we need to be able to recognize, fortify against, and stop. These are the ones we will mostly focus on from here.

In the case of more static type energies (“non-living” things like places and objects), a negative energetic exchange is when we begin taking on the negative energies of a place or object, or otherwise being negatively affected by them. It’s not perfect, but a good analogy might be if you went into a walk-in freezer without a coat. If you were in there long your body would begin taking on the temperature dynamic of the freezer. In the case of dynamic type energies (“living” things like people and animals), there can also literally be a swapping back and forth of subtle energies.
