The End
Meeting A Stepsister
John woke up and immediately realized that he was in an unfamiliar bed. Everything around him was new and foreign to him. This made him feel a little depressed because he did not know what to expect. He was in a new country with new people, and while everyone seemed happy, he wondered how long this happiness would last. The door opened all of a sudden and a young woman walked into the room.
“Why are you still asleep?” she asked. She did not sound happy.
“Uhm, because it's—,” John looked at the clock on the bedside table, it was seven.
“It is seven,” he added and did some quick calculation on how many hours he was losing.
“Here we wake up early. You do not get to sleep as much as you want,” she said. Still, she did not sound happy, as if John had wronged her or something.
The truth was this was the longest conversation they had ever had. They had met three months back when John traveled to England for the very first time. They had not said much because of the awkwardness of the situation. While John knew she was a pretty hot young woman, he knew that he would never try anything with her.
Their parents seemed happy to be together. Her mother had recently married his father and they seemed to be getting along well. They laughed and took trips. They watched the television together. They even dressed in the same colors. They acted so much in love that John decided he was never going to follow them anywhere. While he was not for the idea of his father getting another wife, he knew that there was no way he would allow himself to come between his father and the happiness that awaited him.
This led to John keeping most of his thoughts to himself. He preferred to discuss them in his head other than hurt the person he loved.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” the young woman asked sternly.
John refocused his eyes on her and asked her what she wanted.
“I am waking you up for breakfast, you nitwit,” the woman said. He tried to recall her second name but failed. He could only recall Emma. It did not matter though, soon someone was going to call her and she would recall.
“You eat breakfast at seven?” John asked. That sounded unreal. He was used to eating his breakfast at nine. Now here was a new schedule and he was happy.
“Yes, that is what you are supposed to do,” Emma said with a sarcastic smile. John slumped on the bed and groaned. He could not believe he was being woken up this early to go eat. Not that he did not love his food, he just was not ready to get out of bed. Hell, he was not even ready to use his phone, which he could not locate where it was.
“I will come down later,” John said when he noticed she had started being irritable. He did not want her ruining his morning.
