HOMEWORK:
Homework is a very important area to cover. As I mentioned earlier in the book, so play it safe and remember to find out information relating to the establishment before you arrive at the interview.
Homework means that you need to undertake research into the enterprise.
I will list below some avenues to cover:
You may know someone who works in the complex.
Ring the company, and ask for a copy of a prospectus (this booklet gives all the history of the company).
See if you can get copies of brochures or pamphlets.
If you are wishing to work in an environment, which conducts organised tours through their complex, definitely go on one of the tours take notes and try to remember important things about the complex.
When a position is advertised in the newspaper, selection criteria may be obtained which will also give you valuable information regarding the position and the company.
In addition check to see if other advertisements are in the newspaper referring to that company.
There may be other positions available within that company with whom you wish to seek employment with, but you can still get information about the organisation.
Checking out other avenues within that company could also assist you with at least gaining employment in a temporary field.
