Finding the Time

If one of the reasons you’re feeling a bit uneasy has to do with time constraints, perhaps these suggestions will help:

No one expects you to be a baby sign language expert. You only need to know a few basic signs.

You can teach as few or as many signs as you want. The number of signs you teach isn’t nearly as critical as the quality of the interactions you have with your baby.

Even if you just teach a few basic signs, your baby will benefit. If you find the time to teach them more, go for it.

Of course, you shouldn’t ignore your older children. Get them involved in this too. They’ll love it!

You don’t have to turn your world upside down to be successful. Work signing into your everyday routines. Do what you can. You’ll find it’s easier than you thought.
