I’ve grown a custom to doing it this way

It’s about two-thirty in the afternoon, and I need to track down Cardinal Kelley to see if I can get any more information out of him about Andrew and this case. The hard thing isn’t going to be tracking him down since we’ve had a tail on him and his assistant since the incident at St. Patrick’s Church a few days ago. The hardest part is going to be getting information out of Cardinal Kelley without letting him know what little information we have. I’m sure I’ve got an email on my phone somewhere from Lenny, who is one of three guys keeping an eye on Cardinal Kelley. Let’s just hope he isn’t doing some sort of event tonight; I wouldn’t mind getting to him privately at his home.

“Hey Neil, how are you doing; did you get my message I left you earlier about Cardinal Kelley?”

“Yeah, I got it I was just calling to see where he was and if you know he’s going to be around for a bit because I was thinking of dropping in on him and having a chat with him. Do you think he’s going to be available for me today?”

“Judging by his behavior since the run in that he had with you, he’s been pretty quiet. He hasn’t done anything outside of going to church during the day, and he’s usually back to his condo between five and five-thirty like clockwork.”

“You said he’s got a condo, correct?”

“Let’s put it this way; if I knew I’d be driving a brand-new Chrysler 300M and I’d be living in a condo like his, I would have joined the priesthood right out of high school.”

“Wow, that’s amazing to me that they put them up so well. Where is the condo at; are we talking down river, or are we talking out on the west side somewhere?”

“To make it simpler on everyone, I’ll just send the address to your phone, and you can just plug it into the navigation system. I’ll keep you updated if anything changes; it doesn’t seem like he’s going anywhere today. He’s been held up in his condo since early this morning, and I highly doubt he’s going anywhere. He hasn’t even had any visitors all day, and from the looks of things, he’s there all alone.”

“Not bad, it should be pretty easy for me to get in there and talk to him then. Surprisingly something, in this case, is actually going to be easy for a change.”

“Now that you just said that though you probably just jinxed it, especially with our luck we’ve been having lately.”

“That’s true, very true indeed. I’ll be heading out there shortly; just give me a heads up if someone shows up or he decides to head out.”

“You got it, Neil; I’ll be here keeping an eye on him for another couple of hours. After six, I’m out of here, and Lisa comes on for the night run.”

“Alright, Lenny, I’ll make sure and see you out there shortly.
