Texture and Quantum Entropy Algorithms for Oil Spill Detection in Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

ABSTRACT: This chapter compiles conventional texture algorithm and advanced entropy algorithm for automatic detection of the oil spill. The conventional texture algorithms are based on contrast, homogeneity, entropy and angular second-moment algorithms. The advanced algorithm of entropy is based on quantum entropy. It is shown that the conventional texture algorithm based on the co-occurrence algorithm based on Entropy has a higher performance than contrast, homogeneity and angular second moment. However, the quantum entropy delivers better automatic detection than entropy.
