On arranging the audit process

Once the assessment characteristics are decided upon and the appropriate auditors are selected, it is time to pull up the sleeves to plan and arrange the assessment process. On the auditor side it is straightforward:

Review the customer requirements and all information (schedules, deadlines, target lists, etc.) provided.

Make sure everything is understood, agreed and no arrangements are unrealistic.

Select specialists and assign their roles for the upcoming assessment.

Select who is going to communicate with the auditee during the whole process.

Select appropriate methodologies and techniques.

Now select the tools, if the assessment is technical.

Make sure that all chosen tools are fully operational, stable and are updated and upgraded to the latest versions. You don’t want to tweak, update and reinstall during the tests. Time is precious.

Wait for the green light and go.
