One Workspace, multiple projects

This design pattern is about having a single Workspace to manage all your projects. For example, if you have one project per development environment, you may have an additional host project for your Workspace, responsible for monitoring all environments (for example, development, test, and production). While this has benefits from the perspective of providing a centralized, single pane of glass through which to monitor all your environments, it has some security implications. Whomever you assign the role of Monitoring Viewer to in this project will have access to read monitoring data from all environments, development, and production included. This may or may not be desirable in your organization. This architecture is illustrated in the following figure:
