We reconvened the meeting of the Nations Strategic Space Alliance.

Or N.S.S.A. as it’s known for short.

Elizabeth Bathory sulked. The General didn’t offer her a seat, had her stand behind him. She was sullen, but I knew: That raging sea turtle was plotting and scheming her way back to power. We were about to begin again when the General said: “Hold on a minute. Bathory, get me a coffee, would you? One sugar, please.”

He gave her the thumbs up, patted her on her bum to get her moving - then grinned at me with his one eye.

Then Salome began.

She told them about the Mangina, what we’d seen.

The technology.

And about Anus and how he had activated a self-destruct sequence.

“Ultimately, we were forced to sacrifice the Mangina - or be killed along with it,” she said.

She was disappointed. It annoyed her that, in some way, we had lost that particular battle to capture the Mangina.

One of the French guys said: “So, just to be clear, this Anus guy had three eyes?”

Salome nodded.

“We’ve had one of our people prepare a graphical representation of Anus - a composite sketch based on our description. We are all in agreement, this is accurate.” She removed the sketch from a folder, handed it around the table.

“That’s just hideous,” one of them said.

“Anus described his defect as genetic, so there is a chance that that is what it is - a biological defect and nothing more,” Salome said.

She did not add that Anus had pretty much said his genetic defect was something I, being of questionable genetic origin, too, was familiar with. Or that Anus had also said the The Six were somehow aware of my existence and that their planned invasion of earth was solely to capture me.

Mostly.

Oh, they really did want to enslave earth, too, but they wanted me above all else. And there was a likelihood that Anus had also let the other the The Six know about Salome Valerian’s powerful telekinetic capability. According to Michelle this was an area of scientific research the The Six had heavily invested in.

So we had to keep those considerations in mind.

But Salome mentioned none of that.

“What is worth noting is that this asshole, Anus, would rather destroy the ship and all on board than consider a truce or surrender to preserve his own life. Other than that we all die he offered no alternative option.”

One of the British guys, sipping at his tea and considering the sketch, said: “Anus reminds me a little of my mother-in-law - not only is she an absolute a-hole, she’s as ugly as Anus looks!” and everyone laughed.

“I think we must have the same mother-in-law,” the Frenchman said.

More laughter. More laughter as the invasion of earth got underway and that dangerous hothead, Elizabeth Bathory, returned with the General’s coffee.

Then Salome told them all about the ships heading our way.

“What Miss Bathory claimed earlier is also true - there are two ships out there someplace and on a course for earth. We have established categorically that they are not Conan-class Barbarian mothership-destroyer vessels such as the Mangina.
