I was strapped down, the residual pain from the latest bout of torture was still lingering in my bones. I knew that they were done with me, so I waited patiently for the scientist to loosen the ropes on my wrists, ankles, and waist. Once they did, they would walk... or rather, drag me back to the cell they called a room until they decided to experiment on me again.

There was a delay in them coming to get me. I was able to focus just enough to gauge what was going on. It was painful, but I managed to turn my head to the side and look at where the scientists usually were. They were beside the table as always, but there was another man that I didn’t recognize.

I scanned him over and saw that he was wearing a cross as well as church-going clothing. It wasn't until one of the scientists addressed him as a “pastor” that I realized he was a preacher. They were arguing, and I had to focus solely on the words their mouths formed in order to get even an inkling of what they were talking about.

“Why don’t you understand?” the preacher asked.

“I just—”

One of the scientists had tried to cut him off, but the preacher continued. His tone was firm, “The female werewolves would be safe away from the males. They can still give us so much as long as they are separated... and this is the best way.”

I had been confused by the statement but angered none-the-less. I struggled against my bonds, and the scientists noticed. One quickly approached me and brought out a syringe.
