I leapt, copying Jacob's move in the woods, shifting as I did so. A moment later three men and one woman I assumed where Amber Eye's enforcers were in front of me. Two were leading the man away, while the other two efficiently scanned the remaining crowd for further danger. In my wolf form I was certain I could smell no other firearms around me. Another two wolves grabbed Seth by his arms and marched him away. I suppose he'd face judgment soon enough. Jackson's body still needed to be buried.

I shifted back and found Jax standing in front of me. “And I thought the Phoenix Biker Bar had a rough crowd. Everything under control?”

“You saved my life,” he said quietly. “No one's ever done that before.”

“I seem to recall Jacob was about to kill me until you intervened. This is apparently a very lethal family. Do you know the guy with the gun? Wait—let me guess—he's somebody's nephew, right?”
