Use muscle testing to check the flow of ki through a woman’s chakras. First test her arm alone; it should test strong. Unswitch her circuits if necessary. Then, have her place her free hand over her root center, and test her other arm. Do this for each chakra in turn, checking for blocked ki or an imbalanced center. If a chakra is weak (gets a No), strengthen it by using the body reflexology points for that chakra, or with any other chakra balancing process. Test again.

Kinesiologist John Diamond focuses this chakra process on the heart center, the thymus gland.13 If the woman’s thymus gland is weak, her immune system is weak or underactive. This reaction can be the result of stress. He demonstrates strengthening or activating it by tapping on the breastbone vigorously several times. The arm muscle, at least temporarily, tests strong. The point of his work is that any stimulus that makes the arm test No (weakens) is also weakening to the thymus or heart chakra. Tapping on the gland corrects or strengthens it, and can be done at any time to activate the chakra. If the tester says to the woman, “I love you,” and then tests the thymus again, the woman’s arm tests Yes.

There are two reasons for writing about this test. One is to make the point of the importance of the thymus in women’s health. The thymus regulates and directs a major portion of the body’s immune system and produces the T-cells so important in fighting infections, cancer and AIDS. Women’s well-being depends on the proper activation of this system, and if the system tests consistently weak, something needs to be corrected. Tapping the breastbone or saying “I love you” is only a temporary measure. Use muscle testing or pendulum to find out why the thymus is weak—is it stress, improper nutrition, the environment, emotional factors? And discover what will change it, strengthen it—is it vitamins, a particular food, bottled water instead of tap water, a new lover, a new job?

The other reason is that it’s a simple, very simple, description of an applied kinesiology healing. The process of applied kinesiology is to test an organ or muscle, and if it is weak, to do a movement or polarity that will strengthen it. The theory behind this is that each major muscle, like each meridian, is connected to an organ, and if the muscle tests weak (No), the organ is probably deficient in ki.14 While muscle testing uses only the arm, the middle deltoid muscle, as an indicator, applied kinesiology uses over a hundred muscle points on the body in a variety of body positions. The woman experiencing this testing is usually lying on a massage or chiropractic table, and the practitioner manipulates her positions and tells her how and when to hold while she tests. If a muscle tests weak, the practitioner uses polarity, acupressure placements, or chiropractic adjusting to correct it. If her correction is successful, the muscle tests Yes on a re-test.
