COURAGE
DAY THIRTEEN
When you decide things based on history, you accrue evidence of outcome. “This is what I will expect based on what I have known, this is how I will choose,” predicating an outcome that you foresee born in your agreement to what you have known. A decision born in knowing does not rely upon the old. The True Self, the aspect of self who knows, will accrue the evidence to support knowing.
Now, if you understand what knowing is, which is realization, this will not confound you. The small self’s agenda to get what she wants is born in an inherited idea of what she should have, what she must claim, what must be there for her. As you agree to align in a higher way, as the Divine Self as you accrues you, assumes you, aligns as you, you reclaim the self that you thought you were, in a higher accord. And the knowing that you receive—“This is who I am, and what I am, and how I serve”—becomes your expression without question. Underline those words, friends. Without question means the small self isn’t questioning, because it is only the small self who operates through questions. “Will I get what I want?” “Are my needs being met the way they should?” And she looks at a landscape of others’ endeavors, others’ opinions, how others have seen themselves, compares herself to them, and decides that what she has is not good enough, not real enough, not what she requires. The evidence of history is everywhere you look, and the small self’s idealization of it—“I should marry a rich man,” “I should have a satisfying career,” “I should have the one who wants me in the way that I want”—is the endeavors of the small self to measure herself through the idealization of what things seem to be. Underline seem. The mask that we have taught prior, the small self’s identity, precludes truth, and not through ill intent. But the idea of self, or the mask of small self, will always seek evidence of its reality. “Tell me I am who I say I am.” Now, if you wish this, you may go about your business, enjoy the mask. There is nothing truly wrong with it. But it is not who you are. And the realization of who you are, for some of you, is paramount to apocalypse.
“What does that mean?” he says.
“I am not the woman I thought I was.” “The marriage is not what I thought it was.” “The career does not mean what I thought it did.” “And what am I without these things that I have invested years in, an entire identity?” The apocalypse of the small self, if you wish to call it this, is realization. And realization comes without a question. It comes in knowing. And the True Self who knows, who expresses as you now, will seize this opportunity of personal revelation to
