3. In this step, you will simulate a packet sniffer that has network reachability but is not directly connected to a 7750 SR.

a. Remove the mirror destination on R4.

b. Configure R4’s port to the sniffer as a network port with a corresponding network interface with an IP address of 10.55.55.1/24 or any other IP address on the same subnet as your packet sniffer.

c. Distribute the network interface into the IGP on R4.

d. Verify that R2 has a route to the network where the sniffer is located.

4. Modify the GRE SDP on R2 to have a far-end IP address of the sniffer.

a. Is the GRE SDP on R2 operationally up? Explain.

b. Disable signaling on the GRE SDP.

c. Verify that the GRE SDP is operationally up before continuing.

d. Modify the SDP binding on the mirror destination on R2 to use a static vc-label. What value should be used for the label? Explain.

e. Send a ping between CE routers, and verify that you see the ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) traffic on the sniffer.

f. Does the ICMP traffic captured on the sniffer have any MPLS labels? Explain.
