Conclusion

This chapter may not have been what you were expecting to hear about using AI in business, but it is what I believe you need to hear. At the end of the day, you can try a million different out-of-the-box AI products or try building your own AI systems, but until you’ve created a system for managing, understanding, and utilizing your organizational data and how an AI model interacts with that data, there’s really not much you can benefit from.

Moreover, your system for assessing, evaluating, critically thinking, and implementing an AI solution into an existing workflow needs to be more than “let’s throw AI at it.” Not only for return on investment (ROI) reasons but for the change management, sustainability, infrastructure, development, training, education, and many other aspects of bringing any solution to life. You need to be intentional, thoughtful, and bold with how you craft your AI framework. We’ll discuss this more when we get to AI governance methods.

That being said, once you’ve put in the work to acquire and use the right data with the right AI models in the right scenarios with the right methodologies, your or your customer’s organization will literally, and I really mean this, transform.
