I took this Type 59 to the Mille Miglia, and I’ve got to say, it performed flawlessly. I don’t think the poor thing had ever done more than a hundred miles in a single stretch in its whole life; I did probably twelve hundred miles in three days. My wife did it with me. She’s done the Mille with me a couple different times in different cars, and she claims to this day that this one was the most enjoyable ride—the most fun and the most comfortable. She literally fell asleep. I just can’t fathom how you fall asleep in that car during an open-road endurance race, but she did. Go figure.
