Increase Personal Power

Candles—Straight or votive candles in the following colors: one silver (victory, stability), one yellow (confidence, concentration), and one purple (success, wisdom).

Oil—Carnation.

Herbs—Red sandalwood or rue.

Incense—Carnation, frankincense, or pine.

Stones—Agate, jasper, and black obsidian.

Other Supplies—None.

Timing—On the full moon or the waxing moon cycle.

Day—Thursday.

Advice—Increasing your personal power is a positive action only when you are trying to build up your self-esteem or want to stand up to someone who is manipulating or bullying you. It is not a positive action if you use this spell to gain power so that you can control others.

Spellwork—Light the altar candles and the incense. Anoint the candles from the wick to the end. The candles are set out in a triangular pattern with the silver at the top, the yellow at the bottom right, and the purple at the bottom left. Place the black obsidian near the silver candle, the jasper near the yellow, and the agate near the purple. Light the candles in the same order, beginning with the silver. Say the chant. Leave the candles to burn out completely. Dispose of the wax afterward.

Chant—Power of the self, I seek.

Strength to be bold, not weak.

Courage to stand straight and tall,

Power to overcome all.
