Watching from the car window as Geary slowly navigates into town, I find it hard to believe that so much snow has been dumped on the town overnight. I’m used to the winter months, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve seen it so bad. The roads were cleared at first light so the snow has been pushed toward the side in deep piles.

Geary glances at me as a shiver runs over me at the weather outside the warmth of the truck. I smile. “Concentrate on the roads and not me.”

He frowns. “Are you sure you’re okay? You’ve been quiet since I woke you up.”

I realize he really is worried. “I loved having you wake me, especially in the way that you did.” I blow him a kiss and laugh. “There is so much snow it made me shiver.”

The man is wicked as his eyes light with mirth. The things he can do with his mouth make me squirm to get comfortable in the seat—he knows it too and throws his head back, laughing. “Don’t think I don’t know where your mind is at,” he chuckles and reaches for his groin, doing some rearranging. “Who knew I’d get hard as fuck in this cold weather?”

I roll my eyes. “Your truck is heated, so don’t worry, as soon as we step outside it will all shrivel up.” Grinning, I continue watching through the window, smiling when we arrive at the cider mill.

It was advertised in a tourist brochure at the hotel and Geary thought it would be a good idea to check it out while having a glass of warm apple cider. I couldn’t agree more.

Not many people are out because they probably have more sense than we do, but Geary manages to park as close to the entrance as possible, which has been cleared. Christmas trees with lights welcome guests and as Geary takes my hand and we step inside the scent of apple cider hits us.

I briefly close my eyes and inhale the sweet scent, feeling Geary’s lips brush across my cheek. “The hotel clerk recommended we try the cider donuts while we’re here.”

Groaning, I clench a hand to my stomach. “Donuts are my downfall.”

Chuckling, Geary leads me into the large store; my eyes not knowing were to look first. There is so much on display on the wooden shelves, but the jelly holds my gaze. Tightening my hand in Geary’s, I tug him over. “My cousins and I with our grandma would take over the kitchen on the first of December every year and make jelly. We’d give them to the men and women who lived in the assisted living facility in Lexington along with homemade cookies.” I smile fondly at the memory. “I haven’t thought about that in a long time.” I squeeze his arm. “She’d make us all get dressed up in our Sunday best to deliver the goods. We’d have to sing some Christmas carols for them. The boys as they got older had to be bribed.
