When I woke up this morning and she wasn’t in my arms where she was supposed to be, I freaked out. It wasn’t until I found her with a cup of coffee in hand and sitting on the couch, that my heart finally calmed. The cabin was silent, and she looked at peace staring out at the snow-covered woods. Getting my own mug, I joined her, wrapping her in my arms.

“I wanted to wake you up with kisses this morning,” I murmured into her neck.

She giggled and shifted closer. “I couldn’t sleep much last night.”

I slid my hand down to her leg. “I need to take you to get that knee checked out.”

“I called my brother. I wanted him to know I was okay. He was grateful you were here to help me.”

I pressed my nose to her neck and inhaled her sugar cookie scent. She felt so good, fit so perfectly here. She cuddled into me and sighed. “Do I have to leave?”

“I never said you had to go anywhere.”

“Can I stay here forever?”

I chuckled. “If you want to. I don’t mind.”

She smiled and sipped her coffee while I whispered sweet nothings in her ear. I was so fucking whipped and I didn’t give a shit. I hadn’t felt this free with anybody, especially not Courtney.

The phone rang on the table beside us and I reached over to answer it.

“So damn early. What is it?”

“Leo, I need you to come to the clubhouse as soon as you can.” Bulldog’s voice didn’t sound at all friendly.

“Is there a problem?”

“Let’s just say a ghost of Christmas past has come to pay you a visit. Bitch won’t leave until she talks to you. And it doesn’t look good as far as I could tell.”

I looked down at December who was lying in my arms. She finally felt safe with me and I didn’t want to take that away from her. But as much as I wanted to forget my fucking problems and get lost in my woman, I needed to resolve this matter, fast.

“I’ll be there in an hour.”

“You have to go?” Her pout was endearing, and I leaned down and kissed it away.

“I’ll drop you off at the hospital and then go deal with this issue. I’ll pick you up later for dinner at the clubhouse. It’s bike night,” I winked at her.
