Limiting Steps
To compact your time you must recognize the limiting steps. For every achievement or accomplishment there is a limiting step along the way. The sooner you overcome the limiting steps, the more you can accomplish. These limiting steps can create a barrier to your plans for each day. If you want to be successful, you must identify the limiting step quickly. You must focus with laser intensity on removing it.
For instance, the limiting step in prospecting might be being prepared. Often we don't have all the people we are going to call organized to begin prospecting. We then spend time in preparation when we should be on the phone. All during preparation our minds send us mental images of how hard this is going to be. By the time we get ready, we have psyched ourselves out of doing the prospecting. The preparation is the “limiting” step. The solution is to prepare today, before leaving work, for your prospecting tomorrow. That way you just walk in and do it.
If you are trying to make a flyer for a property you have listed, the limiting step could be just finding the time to drive out and take a picture of the property. Plan a time to do it, or see if you can get someone else to take the picture. Can you pay a staff person in the office a few dollars to drive out on their lunch hour to help you? Define the limiting steps in everything you do.
