• LISTENING TO A SONG •

This activity can be done with a group (either in a support group or in a workshop).

Play the song Lean on Me by Bill Withers and give clients these instructions:

Sit back, relax, and listen to the music with all your heart.

If you know the words, I invite you to sing along! (I also sing!).

When you hear the clapping, you can clap too!

After the songs ends, clients may choose to respond to the following questions:

Who has ever felt the need to lean on someone?

And who has been able to lean on someone?

Judging from the responses I get, people want to share, because most of them raise their hands.

It demonstrates the need for a safe space where people can share.
