When you meet your soul mate in this life, the feeling you both experience can be unbearable at times. You always feel connected and constantly want to be together, finding it hard to focus on tasks that you’re normally able to do. This is more than an infatuation; it is an emotion that fills your heart. When you’re together, you feel complete; when you’re miles apart, it feels like a piece of you is missing. And when discussing your dreams together, you and your soul mate may discover that you’ve had the exact same dream—because you’ve astral-traveled together.

You may not be able to express the love you have for each other easily, finding the words I love you inadequate to convey the intensity of what you feel for one another. The whole thing is very emotional for you both, and initially you might not understand it. You may question why you’re feeling certain emotions you’ve never felt before, even though you’ve had other partners in your life.

It might not always be an easy relationship when you connect with your soul mate, however; often he or she is very much the opposite of you in personality, temperament, and even life goals and directions. Know that it’s natural for each of you to have different tastes and opinions, because you may have come from very different backgrounds and were molded to a certain way of thinking, but you will appreciate each other’s lives immensely. Also, your soul mate is meant to balance you, providing what you’ve been missing in life. This can be a fulfilling but also rocky path, requiring you to overcome many obstacles that cause conflicts and disruptions.

I know from personal experience that many of us who are healers and lightworkers struggle to find the right love relationships on the Earth plane, as we’ve devoted our lives to others. Of course, our struggles stem from the lessons we must learn.

Any highly evolved soul who’s on the planet to teach and help others spiritually needs a partner who will provide a balance. This partner may also be a highly evolved and spiritual soul; if that is the case, there must be some grounding elements in the couple’s relationship, or they’d both find it difficult to be present in their lives. For example, one partner could devote him- or herself to spirituality, using those gifts to heal others; while the other could be involved in a grounding career, such as a lawyer or something within the corporate world, reserving spirituality for his or her personal life. Being a lawyer can provide someone with opportunities to learn many things through interacting with a variety of people, while also helping that person keep his or her feet on the ground.
