Ingredients

CREAM CHEESE PIECRUST

plus

¼ cup honey

2 Tbsp. butter

12 fresh figs, stemmed and cut in half

1 Tbsp. Madeira

Alabama Custard Cream

1. Prepare Cream Cheese Piecrust through step 2.

2. Preheat oven to 350°. Roll dough to ⅛-inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into 12 rounds using a 3½-inch round cutter, rerolling as needed. Press rounds into a (12-cup) muffin pan, forming cups.

3. Bake at 350° for 17 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove from pan to a wire rack, and cool 15 minutes before filling.

4. Melt honey and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place figs, cut sides down, in skillet; cook 5 minutes or until figs are browned and caramelized, shaking skillet often. Transfer figs to a bowl. Add Madeira to skillet, and cook 1 minute, stirring to loosen particles from bottom of skillet. Remove from heat, and cool 10 minutes.

5. Spoon Alabama Custard Cream evenly into prepared tartlet shells. Arrange figs, cut sides up, over custard; drizzle with 1 Tbsp. Madeira mixture.
