Chapter Nineteen

CHASE HIM/HER

I was tickled by the couple who have been married for 80 years. They were at their 90s.I interviewed them in a restaurant. The wife had hearing loss. The husband who had a strong sense humors revealed their secret: “She chases me all over the house. Second, she is humorous.” I believe in a good marriage there need to be time of chasing each other. It is a typical things when one is sexually high, the other is low. The one who is high need to “ask for her things”. After all, your man belongs to you. It is better to chase him than to complain. It is most likely that one partner was chasing the other in the morning of their life but is now chased in the afternoon or twilight of their life. You need to heed words of wisdom from the Apostle Paul: “The husband must fulfill marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone, but also to her husband. In the same way the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. Do not deprive each other except for mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourself in praye r” (I Corinthian 7:3-5).

As stated above it is better for one who is high to claim his/her things with love and a sense of humor rather than having an extra marital affair or contemplating on divorce or punishing the other partner in some other ways. If a 98 year old can still chase her husband, how about you? Don’t you have self- determination?
