METRICS FOR A DREAM TEAM

Let’s assume you have a clear mission and a message. You have a team, and seems to be clicking. What metrics can you put to use to hone that group into a dream team?

Engagement, which we discussed in the last chapter, is a key metric. After testing, you can map the level of engagement across the company, placing the most engaged employees near the top, the disengaged toward the bottom. Each one of those dots has a name. This is essential data.

But it’s even more useful if you combine engagement with performance. At our company, we chart the workforce into quadrants, placing everyone into a now familiar 2x2 format (Figure 6.1).
