Around 4,000 men worked on the Queen Mary. She launched on September 26, 1934. More than 15,000 people paid to see the ship beforehand.

The air is like ice. Within seconds, you’re shivering, clutching your arms to your body. Shaking, you look around. No sign of footprints.

“Jackie?” you whisper. “Jackie?” A little louder. Finally, you shout it, your voice cracking in the cold. “Jackie! Are you here?”

Just feet in front of you, a ball of blue light appears. Tiny sparks, like lightning, wriggle and writhe around it. The ball crackles and hisses. Then it begins to grow.

You scream and turn to run. But at that moment, icy fingers grasp your ankle. You stumble, crashing onto the floor. Your head makes a cracking sound as it hits the hard tile beneath.

Your vision blurs. Your senses dull. But they’re not dull enough. You’re painfully aware of every moment as that terrible ball of blue light and raw energy envelops you. Your breathing slows, and then stops, as the light suffocates you. You feel every second as it seems to rip you from this world. Things go black as the light carries you somewhere dark and cold and very lonely. Your consciousness fades. You’re slipping… slipping… fading out. Gone.
