I spent the rest of the day remembering every tiny detail of what went on in Mexico, my mind recoiling from the horror of it all. Watching a woman being raped was bad enough, but when it was me… I let out a piercing shriek. If Jerry hadn’t arrived when he did… I shivered and began to shake again, the terror of that moment still fresh in my mind. Would dredging it all up with a shrink help or make things worse? Maybe I wasn’t as over it as I thought.

Jerry never called nor did he drop by. I could hardly blame him. I went to bed around ten o’clock, Cutty snuggled in next to me. I refused to cry.
