I woke up quite early the next day. When I looked at the sky visible from out of the entrance of the cave, I could see that the sun wasn’t still up and the sky was all dark. Then I remembered the previous day’s incidents. I sat up suddenly, my heart beating wildly. I looked around myself. The others were still fast asleep. Even Zoey. Allie was in the side of the helicopter where she had been standing yesterday night. She was also sleeping, sprawled on the ground and leaning on the helicopter’s side. But the problem was, Allie and I hadn’t gone to the helicopter for sleeping, at all!

Then I asked myself, ‘When did we go to sleep?’. As far as I knew, I didn’t remember going to sleep at all!

But what was the last thing I remembered from yesterday night?

‘Silly Megan!’ I scolded myself, ‘How can you forget?’

Oh yeah! The last thing I remembered was Lilly and me realizing and telling everybody that the scraping sounds were made by a human, not a ghost!.

OMG! I honestly didn’t know how Lilly and I had found it out all of a sudden. It was like, a light bulb had suddenly turned bright in our heads.

I put my arms around my knees and began rocking back and forth, wondering about all the things that had happened yesterday. Then suddenly, I felt very chilly and quite icy as a soft breeze blew around.

I didn’t feel so brave now.

And neither could I believe that we were at all brave enough to come and practically live near the haunted house!

Now, I actually felt frightened.

As if someone was watching me!

I hurriedly looked around myself. And even though nobody was actually there except my friends, and I felt rather jumpy.

Then when I blinked, I suddenly felt as if I saw a real live ghost roaring towards me. I shook my head vigorously.

Now I didn’t know what to do. I felt terribly panicky and frightened. And my brain was kind of egging in me to get outside the cave, I didn’t know why.

I got up hesitantly. I felt as if a short walk around the area would refresh my senses and make me feel cool. I slowly dodged myself among my sleeping friends and paused beside the helicopter. I felt rather uncertain. All these happenings seemed so real. I couldn’t quite make it out. When I looked at the cave entrance, I certainly felt as if the cave mouth needed a covering in case any ghost or human happened to pass by.

I’ll go for a short walk, collect some weeds, ivy and tie them together for a covering. I decided, that would be a good use of time. Wow, I’m not scared anymore!

I stepped out of the cave and took a deep breath.

The air smelled nice, like fresh flowers and new grass, and the sun was just up. I scanned the place which would likely have weeds and ivy around. Then I spotted the great old oak tree standing a few yards away.
